Surrogacy

The Law Offices of Robert Rettenmaier, PC, works with intended parents and surrogate clients to ensure they are legally protected as best as possible.

Surrogacy agreements are complexed. We focus on protecting your parental rights and financial obligations. Our services include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing surrogacy contracts on behalf of either the intended parents or the surrogate. We handle the legal proceedings to establish the parental rights for intended parents and make sure they end up with full parental rights and responsibilities and ensure that all parental rights of the surrogate are terminated. We are particularly attuned to the legal needs of single people, traditional and/or gay couples, and international prospective parents becoming parents through surrogacy.

We can file pre-birth parentage actions in 58 counties of California. For parents who need a post-birth court order, second-parent adoption, or step-parent adoption, we can also assist you with your needs.

Sperm Donor Agreements & Consultation

The Law Offices of Robert Rettenmaier, PC, creates agreements for men, women, and couples using sperm donors to achieve pregnancy and for men donating sperm to assist families and singles in the journey of pursuing a child.

Each agreement drafted by the Law Offices of Robert Rettenmaier, PC, is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the individuals involved. We strive to help our clients identify the critical issues to include in their agreements, and ensure that the agreements are legally accurate and protect all parties to the full extent possible under the law.

Egg Donor Agreements & Consultations

We assist with both known and anonymous egg donor agreements.

The Law Offices of Robert Rettenmaier, PC, drafts egg donor agreements on behalf of singles and couples using donated eggs to achieve pregnancy — either themselves or with the assistance of a gestational carrier — and also reviews these same agreements on behalf of egg donors.

The firm represents people of all backgrounds using donated eggs, from gay male and/or female couples starting the journey to parenthood to heterosexual couples struggling with infertility to single men looking to become single fathers. We assist you in obtaining a judgment/parentage order to establish your legal rights as the parents of your child.

We help you plan at the very beginning of your legal journey the type of parentage order that best fits your needs, whether it will be a pre-birth order, post-birth order, second-parent adoption, or step-parent adoption.
